When I try to protect a file, I get "Open file failure". I have done this many times, but have recently changed hardware (new PC). What can I do?

You need to open the AHP file, not the HTML, because all the settings and passwords including the HTML file are stored in the proprietary files use by HTML Password Wizard. I have replicated the procedure and it works the way I mentioned it. If you open the HTML file, then you'll receive an error.
I love this php program and have used it for years. However now, I have a problem in that on my SSL-protected site, my password protected pages won't render in the latest version of Windows Explorer browser. I put in the password and it stays on a blank screen. It was rendering before the SSL certificate, and works great in Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. Can you help?

This application is not available anymore. I have checked the official website, but it gives a timed out error. Because of that, it's impossible to provide information or troubleshooting options to an application that appears to be discontinued.
I recommend using the built-in HELP section to see if the problem is described there, alternatively reinstall the application if you still have the installation package.
